My Story.

My journey started in the early web, when I co-founded a small studio and spent a decade building e-commerce platforms and custom CMSs for clients, and mentoring the developers who joined us.

From there I ran engineering for digital agencies. I put four platforms on one shared infrastructure, built an award-winning music-distribution product, and wrote a banking data sync that moved a client onto AWS.

Then I co-founded an AI startup and led it as a hands-on CTO, writing production code alongside the team. We built retrieval-augmented generation, LLM pipelines, and predictive matching into a platform that grew to 84,000+ users under SOC 2 Type II.

Most recently I was tech lead on a small EdTech team, shipping a React Native app and Node.js backend myself while modernizing the stack underneath it. These days I write software with AI every day, and I still love what I do! 💜

My Experience.

  1. 01

    Hands-on CTO @ an AI startup

    CTO & co-founder

    Designed and coded the retrieval-augmented generation system: high-dimensional vector search, adaptive semantic chunking, and cross-lingual English/French embedding alignment.

    Built the compliance-guarded LLM pipelines that extract constraints, classify intent, and validate grounding before anything ships.

    Scaled the platform from zero to 84,000+ users under SOC 2 Type II, owning architecture and security while still shipping features myself.

    Directed a government-funded applied-AI research program across LLM systems, retrieval, computer vision, and predictive modelling.

    Tech Lead @ an EdTech platform

    Tech lead

    Built the new React Native app and Node.js backend with a small team, writing production code daily.

    Modernized the legacy stack, set coding standards, and paid down technical debt to speed up delivery.

    Implemented OAuth 2.0 single sign-on, set up a self-hosted PostHog analytics pipeline, and built a speech-assessment service on Whisper.

    Made AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) part of how the team ships.

    Head of Engineering @ a digital platform venture

    Head of engineering

    Owned architecture for the platform build-out and wrote much of the first version.

    Stood up cloud infrastructure and data integrations to support product growth.

    The team and technology became the foundation of the AI startup I went on to co-found.

    Senior engineer

    Led developers and DBAs across web, mobile, and in-branch large-screen integrations.

    Built an automated Go data-sync service between Oracle and MySQL integrating with a core banking system.

    Migrated hosting to AWS on EC2, RDS, and S3.
